How DriverWell uses cookies and similar technologies
Last updated: 24 March 2026
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently and to provide information to the website owners.
DriverWell uses a minimal number of cookies — only those strictly necessary to operate the platform. We do not use advertising cookies, social media tracking cookies, or any third-party marketing cookies.
2. Cookies We Use
Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential for the website to function. They cannot be switched off. They are usually set in response to actions you take, such as logging in or setting your preferences.

|---|---|---|---|
| dw_session | Authentication session — keeps you logged in | 7 days | Essential |

Functional Cookies
These cookies enable enhanced functionality and personalisation. They may be set by us or by third-party providers whose services we have added to our pages.

| dw_notification_dismissed | Remembers if you dismissed the notification opt-in banner | 30 days | Functional |
Analytics (Session Storage)
We use session storage (not cookies) for anonymous page view analytics. This data is not persistent and is cleared when you close your browser tab.
| Storage Key | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| dw_session_id | Anonymous session identifier for page view counting | Browser session | Analytics |
3. What We Do NOT Use
DriverWell does NOT use:
- Third-party advertising or marketing cookies
- Social media tracking pixels (Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
- Google Analytics or any third-party analytics that track individuals
- Cross-site tracking cookies
- Fingerprinting or any covert tracking technologies
4. Managing Your Cookies
You can control and manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- View what cookies are stored and delete them individually
- Block third-party cookies
- Block cookies from particular sites
- Block all cookies
- Delete all cookies when you close your browser
Please note: Blocking essential cookies will prevent you from logging in and using personalised features of DriverWell. The platform will still work for browsing public content (blog, emergency resources, support pages).
5. Service Worker & Push Notifications
DriverWell is a Progressive Web App (PWA) that uses a service worker for:
- Offline caching: Storing page assets so the app loads faster on repeat visits
- Push notifications: Delivering check-in reminders (only if you explicitly opt in)
Push notifications are entirely optional. You can enable or disable them at any time through your browser settings or by managing your notification preferences within the app.
6. Contact Us
If you have any questions about our use of cookies, please contact us at [email protected].
