DriverWell has been busy. Over the past few weeks we have added a significant amount of new content, new sector hubs, and a number of quality-of-life improvements across the platform. Here is a full rundown of everything that is new.
New Sector Hubs
Courier & Rider Hub
Motorcycle couriers, moped riders, and last-mile despatch riders now have a dedicated home on DriverWell. The Courier & Rider Hub covers five areas that matter most to riders: daily wellbeing routines, road risk and safety (including PPE rights, lone working, and insurance requirements), fatigue and weather management, mental health at work (isolation, post-incident support, and financial stress), and rights and pay.
On the rights front, we cover the landmark Supreme Court ruling in Uber BV v Aslam [2021], which established that many gig couriers are legally "workers" - not self-employed - and are therefore entitled to the National Living Wage, paid holiday, and pension auto-enrolment. We also signpost the IWGB Couriers & Logistics Branch and GMB Union for riders who want collective support.
Cleaner & Maintenance Hub
Vehicle cleaners, yard operatives, and maintenance support staff are often overlooked in workplace wellbeing conversations. The Cleaner & Maintenance Hub addresses that gap with dedicated content on COSHH compliance, PPE rights, chemical and physical hazards, fatigue and shift work, mental health at work, and employment rights. It is the first hub on DriverWell built specifically for cleaning and maintenance staff in the transport sector.
New Occupation: Director / Senior Manager
DriverWell has always been for everyone in the transport industry - from cleaners to directors. Now that is reflected in the onboarding flow. Directors, MDs, CEOs, and Operations Directors can select their role during sign-up and be routed directly to leadership wellbeing content, including resources on building a mentally healthy organisation and meeting your duty of care as an employer. A dedicated "My Hub" banner on the homepage keeps that content one tap away.
Find Your Hub - One Page for Every Role
We have launched a new shareable landing page at /hubs that lists every sector hub on DriverWell as a card. Fleet managers, union reps, and occupational health professionals can now share a single link with their entire workforce and let each person navigate to the hub that fits their role. The page currently covers ten hubs: HGV & Freight, Coach & Bus, Van & Light Commercial, Taxi & Private Hire, Logistics & Warehousing, Mechanic & Workshop, Office & Admin, Dispatcher & Control, Courier & Rider, and Cleaner & Maintenance.
New Vehicle Type: Motorcycle / Moped
The vehicle selector now includes a dedicated Motorcycle / Moped option, sitting between Delivery and Other. Selecting it routes riders directly to the Courier & Rider Hub rather than the Van Driver Hub, giving them content that actually reflects their working conditions. The option is also available in Profile Settings so existing users can update their vehicle type at any time.
New Vehicle Type: Taxi / Private Hire
Taxi and PHV drivers now have their own vehicle option in the selector, routing them directly to the Taxi & PHV Hub rather than through "Other". The hub covers lone working safety, passenger conflict, licensing guidance, and shift wellbeing - content that is specific to licensed taxi and private hire work.
CPC Training Directory - Verified Provider
The placeholder "Driver CPC Training" entry in the CPC Training Directory has been replaced with National CPC - a DVSA-approved training centre (AC02990) offering fully online HGV and PSV CPC courses via Zoom, covering both National and International CPC. Their details: 0203 457 6785, nationalcpc.co.uk. Every listing in the directory is now a verified provider.
Mobile UX Improvements
A number of mobile layout issues have been resolved:
- The "What do you drive?" vehicle selector modal now scrolls properly on small screens, with the Skip and Continue buttons pinned to the bottom so they are always reachable.
- The "What's your role?" occupation selector now also scrolls correctly on short screens.
- Both selectors use a more compact header on small viewports, giving more visible space to the option list.
- The Return to Driving CPC banner button in the CPC Training Directory no longer overflows off-screen on mobile - the button text now wraps correctly.
Settings Reminder on Role Selector
Both steps of the onboarding role selector - "What's your role?" and "What do you drive?" - now show a small reminder beneath the description: "You can change this at any time using Settings in the navbar." This reduces the anxiety some users feel about making a permanent choice during onboarding.
